Mmmmmm pizza

What a lovely way to spend the evening. I appear to have got really quite heroically drunk. Drunk enough that when I first woke up this morning I couldn't quite work out whether some of the last parts of the night had been real or were dreamt. Admittedly I don't usually have dreams quite that explicit though.

We had a few friends round for pizza and wine to celebrate me being thin and commiserate on the driving test result. Though in fact we didn't end up talking about either. Due to logistical problems half the party was somewhat delayed, and by the time they arrived and we ordered the food the other 4 of us were already 2 bottles of wine down and had got as far as the astral pole vaulting. August appears to be a natural at this, and also taught us a trick with a wooden spoon and an empty wine bottle that my arms seem to be entirely the wrong bendiness for. I think I possibly ought not to wear such a short skirt while pole vaulting in future. Mind you I bought it for its comedy schoolgirlness and it did remind me why we had skirts like that to do PE in in the first place: it certainly didn't get in the way.

It was nice when the others arrived anyway, and I'm sorry if we were horribly drunk at them but they soon caught up (apart from poor Sion who was driving - next time we'll have to persuade you to just leave the car here and get a taxi back like the others did). Anyway Kate and Jan quacked and mooed and giggled lots and seemed to have a good time, which I'm glad of. Was worried Kate would find us too, something. And Richard was very sweetly tolerant of me being rather snuggly on the sofa, and even left me five minutes to say goodnight before bedtime too. And helped me decide what to wear tomorrow, erm, tonight now, too.

Not sure why I've woken up so early, but I can't seem to get back to sleep so I shall potter round the house in pyjamas all day or something, or just fall asleep again on the sofa later more likely. Really looking forward to tonight's party though, even if it will be slightly sad in an end-of-an-era sort of way I think we ought to be able to say farewell with a bang.
