6. What's your favourite book from childhood? The Dark is Rising Sequence, Susan Cooper (if venta can get away with a series so can I)

8. What book last made you weep? Managed to avoid it with this reading of the Fellowship, probably Are you my mother?, Louise Voss, which my mother lent me. But I weep easily at books.

2003 in review

1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Went to the Whitby Gothic Weekend
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I don't remember making any, though I do plan to make some vague ones next year
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Yes, my Auntie Caroline, Vicky L, Jac, Linz, Dawn in roughly that order
4. Did anyone close to you die? My Auntie Della
5. What countries did you visit? Um, UK
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? Go on holiday properly, even just a weekend in France or Spain or Italy.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Nothing is jumping to mind.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Making it out this end still smiling.
9. What was your biggest failure? Hurting people. Gaining weight.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yeah, depression on and off all year, and a nasty bike accident in the summer
11. What was the best thing you bought? New Rocks and Corset!
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Lots of people
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Mine, amongst others
14. Where did most of your money go? Rent, new computer, bits and pieces, Whitby
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? people
16. What song will always remind you of 2003? Can't think of a single one, some have gained more associations from this year though

i. happier or sadder?
Hard to say, at the moment probably happier, but it does need work.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter, but still thinner than two years ago at least
iii. richer or poorer? Possibly a little richer, but not much in it
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Improving my bank balance!
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Eating.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? Spent it with rjk's family, will be spending next with mine no doubt
22. Did you fall in love in 2003? Yes
23. How many one-night stands? One, sort-of. With a friend, and with the possiblility of repeats in the future, but no "relationship"
24. What was your favorite TV program? Red Dwarf probably
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No
26. What was the best book you read? Oooh, difficult
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Was the Alabama 3 this year? No, probably last actually.
28. What did you want and get? Lots of lovely things
29. What did you want and not get? Easy answers to difficult questions
30. What was your favorite film of this year? Oooh, erm, probably Pirates, though I enjoyed quite a few.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Dinner with Richard, followed by the Carlton pub quiz iirc. 28.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Getting my head round work better.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? Um, gothish. Gradually getting less well fitting.
34. What kept you sane? Richard
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Johnny Depp
36. What political issue stirred you the most? Possibly the gay bishops thing, I tried to avoid the war, not that I feel good about having done so.
37. Who did you miss? David.
38. Who was the best new person you met? Possibly Jess. There were loads of nice people though.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003. I don't think I've learned anything new this year. Still working on not giving up.
